History of Brand Hydraulics
Brand Hydraulics Co. was founded in 1956 by Glen Brand and his wife, Mary Lou. Glen was a 1948 Olympic Gold Medalist in freestyle wrestling at the London Games and later studied engineering at Iowa State University, bringing both discipline and technical expertise to the company’s foundation.
Located in Omaha, Nebraska, Brand Hydraulics has designed, manufactured, assembled, and tested hydraulic valves since its founding. Following Glen’s passing in 2008, the company has been led by his son, Greg Brand, continuing the Brand family legacy.
In 1997, Brand expanded its product line to include electronic controllers and custom wiring harnesses. Today, Brand designs and manufactures hydraulic valves, electronic controllers, and integrated electro-hydraulic solutions to meet the specific needs of its customers.

Brand’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement is demonstrated through its ISO 9001 certification. Brand was originally certified to ISO 9001:1994 in January 2002 and has since upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 with Design. Smithers Quality Assessments, Inc. serves as Brand’s Registrar, and the Certificate Number is #02.002.01.
